The Epson Picturemate and Picturemate 500 uses a new technique of loading cartridges into the printer.
Note: Make sure you are not trying to put a T0557 cartridge (PictureMate and Picturemate 500) into the PictureMate 100 printer. They are the same size but they are different and may get jammed if you try and force the cartridge into the printer.
The printer uses a lever to load the cartridge into position, but unfortunately this mechanism is pretty innaccurate and doesn't always put it in exactly the right position. There is a way to get the cart to be recognised in most cases.
- Open the back of the printer and insert the cartridge
- Slide the lever accross to the right until it locks in place
- Press firmly on the back right of the cartridge
- Close the back lid and it should be recognised
This only appears to happen on certain Picturemate printers as it appears to be a manufacturing flaw.
